World Federation of Neuroradiological Societies (WFNRS) Travelling Grants

The WFNRS is pleased to announce its Travelling Grants for attending major Neuroradiological meetings, including ASNR (every year), ESNR (every year), AOSNR (every two years), and Symposium Neuroradiologicum (every four years). This fellowship intends to foster the development of young and in-training neuroradiologists in the field of both diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology by supporting their attendance at major neuroradiological meetings organized by ESNR, ASNR, AONRS and WFNRS.

Goal: To provide funds in the form of “WFNRS Travelling Grants” to individuals with limited resources from three regions of the world defined as Europe/Middle East/Africa (represented by ESNR), The Americas (represented by ASNR), and Asia/Oceania (represented by AOSNR), but living outside the country of the meeting venue. Only individuals living in the region of the world where the Symposium Neuroradiologicum is organized can apply to the Travelling Grants for this meeting.

Funding: WFNRS will support three Travelling Grants every year, each with and stipend of up to $2000.00 with the following distribution: ASNR every year, ESNR every year, AOSNR every two years, Symposium Neuroradiologicum every four years, considering that no Travelling Grants other than those for the Symposium Neuroradiologicum will be supported on the year in which this meeting is organized. The local organizers for each of these meetings, if possible, will waive registration fees for those meetings to the awardees. A check for the total value of the grant will be given in person to the awardees at the time of the congress they are attending. Once the candidates are selected, their names and countries of origin should be immediately given to the President of Federation and ASNR’s CEO.

Eligibility: Applicants should be certified or in-training radiologists/neuroradiologists under 40 years of age, and ideally individuals in training or within 3 years of having completed their training and working at an institution located outside the country of the meeting venue.

Selection: An ad hoc selection committee formed by a representative of each Society (ESNR, ASNR, AOSNR and WFNRS), and the Congresses President’s (with two additional members selected at their discretion) will select the three candidates. The committee will select three (each a grant of $2000.00) candidates with enough time in advance so that these individuals have time to plan their travel. The final decisions will be sent to all applicants.

Application:

The following documents are required:

  • Applicant’s curriculum vitae including detailed information of applicant’s institution
  • Letter certifying that the candidate is a certified or in-training radiologist/neuroradiologist
  • Support letter from the head of his/her department
  • Letter of intention from the candidate
